On November 20, 2024, the drafting and working conference of the industry standard "Technical Specification for Water based Polishing of Paper Printing Products" was held at Zhejiang Xinzhen Printing Technology Co., Ltd. Wang Lijie, Secretary General of the Book and Publication Printing Technical Committee of the National Printing Standards Committee, Zhang Xuliang, Secretary General of the Packaging Printing Technical Committee of the National Printing Standards Committee, Liang Xiaoke, Secretary General of the Longgang Printing and Packaging Industry Association, Hu Guimian, Advisor of the National Printing Standardization Technical Committee, Chen Xiulan, Deputy Secretary General of the Book and Publication Printing Technical Committee of the National Printing Standards Committee, Liu Xia, Deputy Secretary General of the Shenzhen Printing Industry Association, and other experts and enterprise representatives attended the meeting, which was chaired by Chen Xiulan.
The expert group conducted on-site discussions and reviews of the industry standard documents. Zhejiang Xinzhen Printing Technology Co., Ltd., as the first drafting unit of the industry standard, hosted this conference.
一、Introduction to Work Meeting Activities
At the beginning of the meeting, Guo Hehui, the head of the High Quality Development Department of Longgang City, extended his sincerest welcome and gratitude to the experts and scholars present. He introduced that Longgang City attaches great importance to standardization work, and has formulated a total of 71 standards and related policies in the past year, providing strong impetus for promoting the high-quality development of Longgang.

Huang Tixin, Chairman of Xinzhen Printing Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a speech. The Chairman first welcomed all experts to our company to participate in the development of this technical specification standard. He expressed gratitude to the leaders for their recognition of our company's work in developing industry standards and introduces the background of the research and development of water-based polishing technology.
The water-based polishing process for printed materials has the characteristics of being non-toxic, odorless, free of organic volatiles, low cost, and wide source of raw materials, which can endow printed materials with good gloss, folding resistance, wear resistance, and chemical resistance. At the same time, this process does not require coating the substrate, making it easy to recycle and reuse printed materials, fully in line with today's green development concept and environmental protection industry trend. At present, there are no national or industry standards to regulate water-based polishing technology for printed materials in China. Therefore, as early as 2022, Xinzhen Printing began preparing for the application and development of the industry standard for "Water based Polishing Technology Specification for Paper Printed Materials" and took the lead in formulating the "Water based Polishing Technology Specification for Paper Printed Materials". It also researched and determined the technical specifications and inspection standards for water-based polishing of printed materials. This technical specification will help improve the technical level and product quality of the printing industry, and promote the green development of the industry.

At the meeting, Secretary General Wang Lijie and Secretary General Zhang Xuliang of the Book and Publication Printing Technical Committee of the National Printing Standards Committee expressed their deep impression of the thriving industry scene presented by Longgang's printing industry, and affirmed and thanked Longgang City for increasing its support for standardization work.
After entering the standard discussion stage, Zhang Xuliang from the Packaging and Printing Technical Committee of the National Printing and Labeling Commission is responsible for introducing the specific situation of the standards and presiding over the entire discussion process. The attending representatives actively engaged in in-depth discussions around the content of the draft standard, expressing their own opinions and fully exchanging ideas, ultimately collecting multiple constructive revision suggestions. The drafting unit will further refine and improve the standard draft based on these valuable opinions to ensure its scientificity, rationality, and practicality.
During this discussion and exchange, representatives expressed that they had gained a lot and that this trip was not in vain.
